North Lake Tahoe-area Construction Closure
State Route 28 between Sand Harbor and U.S. 50 in Lake Tahoe will be closed for construction from 7 p.m. Sundays through 5 a.m. Fridays for three weeks May 3 through May 22.
The Nevada Department of Transportation road closure is related to a $5 million project to resurface SR 28 from U.S. 50 to East Lakeshore Boulevard. Closing SR 28 for 3 weeks will allow roadway resurfacing from U.S. 50 to East Lakeshore Boulevard in eight weeks as opposed to more than sixteen weeks by closing only one lane.

WASHINGTON - The nation's 3.5 million truck drivers will be limited to driving for only 11 hours and working for no more than 14 hours each day under a new rule issued today by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The final rule is based on an exhaustive scientific review and designed to ensure truck drivers get the necessary rest to perform safe operations and the quality of life they deserve, the agency's Administrator, John Hill, noted.
